In this highly competitive business environment, supplier diversity has become a strategic necessity. For a national organization like SimplexGrinnell, with local offices across North America, it makes good business sense to partner with businesses that reflect the communities in which we operate. In turn, these businesses have an opportunity to build a project and experience base that paves the way for their growth.   We view this relationship with diversity suppliers as a business partnership.  

We actively seek to strengthen our inclusion of minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, disabled-owned and HUBZone businesses in our supplier base. We have instituted nationwide policies and goals for increased expenditures with these businesses, and are building a database of Diversity suppliers with whom we can partner in the delivery of services and products to our customers. 

Among various initiatives, we are increasing our participation in targeted Small Business Administration programs. We have intensified our focus on Diversity contractor participation in our work with municipalities, particularly school districts. In the same way, we are moving to build market share in the government sector, including contracts with the US Department of Defense.
