Through Inclusion we develop a workplace where employees can realize their full potential. In doing so, SimplexGrinnell can better achieve its full potential, too, because Diversity & Inclusion promotes superior business performance and a competitive advantage. 

To make Diversity & Inclusion part of the fabric of our workplace, we have integrated it into our strategic planning process and infrastructure. This includes creating an annual D&I Strategy in partnership with the executive team who takes full accountability for delivery of the goals, including the communication to employees and keeping efforts moving forward.  Currently, our efforts include building awareness of behaviors that promote an inclusive culture, employee roundtables and focus group sessions that allow for two-way communication, incorporating diversity and inclusion measures in our employee survey process, and utilizing our exit survey process to learn how we can improve.  We have also created and offer D&I training workshops and on-line training. 

We’ve taken steps to ensure that our D&I Strategy is leveraged across the company.  Our Women’s Growth Network, which was developed through an effort in our D&I Strategy, is taking the lead in sharing best practices with other Tyco companies. This allows us to contribute by sharing lessons learned and provides our WGN the opportunity to network beyond the boundaries of SimplexGrinnell.  Our Sales, Marketing, and Operational Excellence groups have efforts underway that allow us to reach out to minority based and minority owned contractors and supply chain businesses.  We continuously strive to improve our efforts internally while also looking for opportunities to partner with others who share our passion in making a difference through inclusion.
