SIMPLEXGRINNELL AND TYCO SAFETY PRODUCTS SUMMER FUNDRAISER RAISES $10,000 FOR SHRINERS PEDIATRIC BURN CENTER

WESTMINSTER, Mass. (August 21, 2009) – Hundreds of SimplexGrinnell and Tyco Safety Products employees came together for a special cause on Thursday – donating more than $10,000 from the company’s annual charitable barbeque to Shriners Hospital – Boston.

Employees participated in a wide array of raffles, auctions and games organized to raise money for Shriners Hospital in Boston, a 30-bed pediatric facility providing free care to children with burn injuries. Several area businesses and organizations stepped forward to support the effort by donating raffle items.

“Given our long history as leaders in fire protection, SimplexGrinnell and Tyco Safety Products are proud to support this wonderful hospital again this year, which relies on the generosity of donors to fulfill its mission of delivering specialized pediatric burn care at no charge,” said Dave Baer, Vice President of Marketing at SimplexGrinnell. “The response from our employees was great, and we had a fun, rewarding and successful day.”

Last year’s summer employee event raised over $12,000 for Shriners Hospital - Boston. At Thursday’s barbeque, SimplexGrinnell and Tyco Safety Products were joined by representatives of Shriners Hospital – Boston as well as other community organizations the company supports, including Habitat for Humanity, the Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of North Central Massachusetts, the Westminster 250th Anniversary Celebration and the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District.
