As a Tyco company, SimplexGrinnell participates in the Diversity & Inclusion initiatives of its corporate parent. With locations in 60 countries, varied businesses and customers, and employees who speak at least 25 languages, Diversity has long been a feature of Tyco International and its affiliated companies. It is considered vital and integral to Tyco’s success. 

In 2007 Tyco gave greater visibility to Diversity & Inclusion with the formation of the Tyco Diversity & Inclusion Council Comprising key business leaders from throughout The Tyco organization, the Council promotes collaboration across corporate boundaries through best practice sharing, problem resolution and benchmarking data. Its members communicate D&I initiatives within their businesses and functions, and regularly review progress against Tyco’s overarching D&I strategic plan.

Among numerous ongoing initiatives at Tyco are the Respect in the Workplace training series, partnership with diversity-serving colleges, and membership in organizations serving women’s career development and advancement. Tyco also sponsors student internships and mentoring programs for employees, and encourages community involvement. Just one example is the receipt of NELI (National Eagle Leadership Institute) awards by outstanding African-American and Hispanic Leaders among our employees.  

A key priority at Tyco is building its supply base to reflect the demographics of stakeholders and customers. Through the implementation of enterprise-wide policies and performance measurement, Tyco is actively at work to extend its expenditure diversity suppliers to each of its businesses around the world.
