NFPA 72®, the National Fire Alarm Code®, requires conventional two-wire detectors (those that receive their power from the initiating device circuit of a fire alarm control unit) to be listed for use with the fire alarm control panel.
SimplexGrinnell has a long history of ensuring compatibility between generations of Simplex products. SimplexGrinnell has compatibility listings that allow our customers to add new detectors to legacy Simplex and Autocall® systems or replace obsolete detectors with new ones while complying with Code.
And, because Simplex panels now have compatibility with many other manufacturers’ conventional detectors, owners of non-Simplex systems may be able to upgrade an aging or obsolete panel to a new Simplex panel without replacing existing conventional detectors.
