For checking a unit's pressure, SimplexGrinnell extinguishers feature a large gauge on the front. When the needle is in the green zone, the unit is charged and ready for use. Selecting the right extinguishing agent
- Water - the most common and readily available fire extinguishing agent, effective on Class A (wood, paper, cloth) fires
- Carbon Dioxide - a colorless, odorless, electrically non-conductive gaseous "clean" agent that is effective on Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C (electrical) fires
- FORAY - a monoammonium phosphate-based agent for use on Class A (wood, paper, cloth), Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C (electrical) fires
