With TrueAlert appliances, cost effective T-Tap wiring has replaced time-consuming, parallel wired, reverse polarity circuits. Fewer wires are required and more appliances can be connected per circuit, making for fast, error-free installation that can save the installer 30% or more in labor and materials.
There are important economic advantages in system testing, also. Thanks to addressability and the "local-area test mode," each TrueAlert appliance can be tested locally. Fast, unobtrusive, testing can be carried out during regular business hours, with the building occupied. This allows significant savings in long-term test and maintenance expense. In addition, the installer can test each appliance as it is installed, allowing any problem to be identified and corrected on-the-spot.
If a ground fault occurs anywhere in the system, it is automatically identified and isolated, and can be typically resolved in 2-4 minutes. This contrasts sharply with the 2 to 4 hours it can take to diagnose problems in conventional appliances.
