SimplexGrinnell Announces GSA Contract For
Nurse Call / Patient Response Products
Leading Systems Integrator Also Working Toward
GSA Agreement For Fire and Security Offerings
HOUSTON, Texas and WESTMINSTER, Massachusetts (May 22, 2002) - SimplexGrinnell, a business unit of Tyco International Ltd.'s (NYSE: TYC, LSE: TYI, BSX: TYC) Fire and Security Division and a leader in fire protection, integrated security and healthcare communications, is now able to provide advanced nurse call and patient response products to the federal government under a newly approved agreement with the General Services Administration (GSA).
The new GSA agreement, GS-27F-0026M, covers three flagship products available from SimplexGrinnell: the Executone Healthcare Communications Platform™ for wireless systems integration; CARE/COM® II-E Patient Communications System; and the LifeSaver™ System intelligent nurse call solution.
"SimplexGrinnell's agreement with GSA for leading nurse call and patient response systems is a step forward in our expanding efforts to serve the needs of the federal government," said John Harding, Government Sales and Marketing Manager with SimplexGrinnell. "Whether used in a VA hospital or a military clinic, our healthcare communications systems can help federal organizations operate more efficiently and effectively."
GSA agreements, like the SimplexGrinnell contract for nurse call and patient response products, streamline the federal purchasing process. This process allows for a shorter procurement cycle, and enables federal agencies to procure goods and services more efficiently, with reduced expenditure of time and resources.
SimplexGrinnell has also been working toward a GSA contract for fire alarm and security systems. As a result of those efforts, SimplexGrinnell has an agreement pending that will include a comprehensive offering of detection and alarm and integrated security solutions. SimplexGrinnell also has an existing GSA agreement for the servicing of fire alarm systems.
"The ability to offer these products and services to federal government customers underscores SimplexGrinnell's single-source capabilities," Harding says. "Our one-stop delivery model is a very good fit in the government marketplace. And the intent is to expand our GSA offerings to include portable fire extinguishers and sprinklers as well."
More information on SimplexGrinnell's GSA agreements is available at www.simplexgrinnell.com/gsa. SimplexGrinnell will also exhibit at the GSA Expo, May 22 and 23, at the San Diego Convention Center.
