Salt Lake City, UTAH (May 23, 2004) - SimplexGrinnell announces the formation of a national team of fire and life-safety systems professionals focused on supporting the architectural and engineering community with design and specification services. The SimplexGrinnell A&E Partnership, an initiative that reflects a strong corporate-level commitment to meeting the needs of architects and engineers, is being introduced at this week's NFPA World Safety Conference & Exposition® in Salt Lake City.
SimplexGrinnell, a business unit of Tyco Fire & Security and a leader in fire protection and life-safety systems, created the SimplexGrinnell A&E Partnership as a service to architectural and engineering firms. The A&E Partnership is composed of NICET-certified specialists with the knowledge and experience required to assist architects and engineers in the full range of facilities design environments, from new construction and additions to upgrades and retrofits.
Covering key cities and regions throughout the United States, A&E team members possess an average of 22 years of experience in the fire alarm industry. Supported by SimplexGrinnell's 160 local offices, the A&E Partnership can help ensure that fire and safety systems are code compliant and designed to provide the best possible performance in the applicable setting.
"We continually strive to find ways to better serve the industry and build upon the trusted SimplexGrinnell reputation," said Dean Seavers, President of SimplexGrinnell. "We believe the SimplexGrinnell A&E Partnership offers the architectural and engineering community true benefits that will translate into top-quality designs, time and cost savings, and a competitive advantage for our partner firms."
The support services provided by the SimplexGrinnell A&E Partnership include: development of performance and product specifications; design support; sharing of industry best practices; notification of code changes (NFPA, UL (Underwriters Laboratories Inc. ), International); and new technology developments.
In addition to direct design support, the SimplexGrinnell A&E Partnership also offers educational services, including training programs, "lunch & learn" sessions, and seminars covering the latest codes and fire systems technology. Participants in the A&E Partnership's training programs may qualify for CEU credits.
"We see the professionals in the architectural, engineering and consulting community as our partners, and are committed to serving and supporting them to the best of our ability," said Steve Rawson, Director of Sales Engineering at SimplexGrinnell.
