WESTMINSTER, Massachusetts (Aug. 30, 2005)-SimplexGrinnell, a business unit of Tyco Fire & Security, and Tyco Safety Products today celebrated the grand opening of a new Worldwide Visitor Center that will provide customers with real-life demonstrations of the latest in fire and life-safety technology and solutions.

Executives from SimplexGrinnell and Tyco Safety Products were joined by local elected officials, business leaders and area legislators for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the Tyco Westminster Visitor Center, located on the third floor of the office building at 50 Technology Drive in Westminster.

For SimplexGrinnell, the North American leader in fire and life safety, the Visitor Center provides the opportunity for customers and prospects to see first-hand demonstrations of the features and functionality of the fire, life-safety, integrated security, sound, and healthcare communications systems that help protect tens of thousands of buildings throughout the United States and Canada.

An Important Tyco Resource
The opening of the Worldwide Visitor Center, in addition to providing a critical corporate resource for SimplexGrinnell customers, underscores the importance of the three-story building to Tyco's operations in Westminster and to the local region. First opened by Simplex in April 2000, the building is now fully occupied, with over 600 employees from SimplexGrinnell and Tyco Safety Products based there. The functions performed in Westminster include centers of excellence in finance, electrical design and IT that support SimplexGrinnell's network of 150 local offices in the United States and Canada.

The Worldwide Visitor Center features a full line of Simplex -branded fire alarm systems, long considered the gold standard in the fire industry.
